The Wellington Cable Car is one of the city’s most iconic attractions, connecting the heart of the CBD with the hilltop suburb of Kelburn since 1902. As a Council-Controlled Organisation (CCO), we are governed by a Board of Directors that helps guide the strategic direction of the business and support our role in Wellington’s public transport and tourism landscape.

Behind the scenes, a passionate team keeps the little red cars moving every day. Each team member plays a part in delivering safe, reliable, and memorable journeys for locals and visitors who ride with us each year.
